There are thousands of "AI marketing tools", and most of them are thin wrappers around the same few models. You don't need fifty subscriptions. You need a small, dependable stack, and the skill to use it well. Here are the AI tools we actually teach, grouped by the job they do, with how marketers use each one day to day.

How to choose AI tools (before the list)

Judge every tool by three questions:

  1. Does it save time on a task I do every week? If not, it's a toy.
  2. Can I check its output? AI drafts; you approve. Never publish what you can't verify.
  3. Does it fit my existing workflow? A tool that lives inside Ads Manager, Canva or Google Sheets gets used. A separate app often doesn't.

1. General AI assistants: ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini

These are the core of any AI marketing workflow. Use them for:

  • Turning customer reviews and enquiries into pains, desires and objections
  • Drafting ad copy, email sequences, landing page sections and video scripts
  • Summarising long reports, call transcripts and competitor pages
  • Building campaign plans, content calendars and briefs

Pro tip: give the assistant context before asking for output. "You are a performance marketer for a Bengaluru coaching institute. Our audience is… Our offer is…" produces far better results than "write an ad".

2. Research: Perplexity

Perplexity is an AI search engine that cites its sources, which makes it useful for market and competitor research. Use it to map competitors, find industry statistics (then click through and verify them), and understand a new niche quickly before planning a campaign.

3. SEO: Google Search Console plus an AI assistant

The most underrated SEO tool is free: Google Search Console. Export the queries a page already ranks for, paste them into an AI assistant, and ask which questions the page fails to answer. Then improve the page for real readers. Pair it with a keyword tool of your choice for research and with AI to draft outlines, but write and fact-check the final content yourself. Google rewards helpful, experienced content, however it was produced.

4. Design and images: Canva Magic Studio and Midjourney

  • Canva Magic Studio for fast social posts, carousels, resizing designs for every platform and removing backgrounds.
  • Midjourney (or other image generators) for concept art, mood boards and unusual ad visuals. Always check usage rights and avoid misleading images of products or people.

5. Video: CapCut

Short-form video drives reach on Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. CapCut's auto-captions, templates and AI features make it possible to edit a Reel in minutes. The winning formula is still human: a strong hook in the first two seconds, one clear idea, and captions people can read with the sound off.

6. Ads: built-in AI in Meta and Google

The ad platforms themselves now carry the most powerful AI in your stack:

  • Meta Advantage+ automates audiences, placements and creative variations.
  • Google Performance Max finds conversions across Search, YouTube, Display, Discover, Gmail and Maps.

Your job shifts from manual targeting to feeding the algorithms good inputs: clean conversion tracking, strong creative and a clear offer. Our guide to using AI for Meta Ads covers this in detail.

7. Automation: ManyChat and Zapier

  • ManyChat automates Instagram and WhatsApp conversations, for example, sending a brochure when someone comments "INFO" on a Reel.
  • Zapier connects your apps: new lead from a form → row in Google Sheets → WhatsApp alert to sales → follow-up email.

Automation is where small teams win back hours every week.

8. Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Looker Studio

GA4 tracks what visitors do on your site; Looker Studio turns it into dashboards your boss or client can read. Use an AI assistant to explain unfamiliar reports, write formulas or suggest what to investigate when numbers drop, then confirm the answer in the data.

You can build serious marketing skills before paying for anything. Upgrade only when a tool is clearly saving you time.

The skill that matters more than any tool

Tools change every few months. What lasts is knowing what good marketing looks like: understanding customers, writing a clear offer, testing systematically and reading data honestly. AI makes a skilled marketer much faster, it doesn't replace the skill.
